It’s official. GeekBoy needs glasses.
We went to the optometrist this morning. We had prepared for this yesterday with a study on eyeballs and what happens at an eye exam. So he wasn’t freaked when the technician used the machine to shoot a puff of air in his eyeballs. And despite his thing about touching his face, he let the Doc check out his eyes and did his best to read the charts.
The official diagnoses – his eyeballs are healthy, but small. It’s causing him some trouble with farsightedness (meaning, for those like me who confuse this, that he can indeed see far away, but can not see up close). He will most likely out grow “this” in 2-3 years as his eyeballs grow along with the rest of him. Until then, he needs to wear his glasses for reading and computer time, which for this kid means he’ll be wearing them practically all day. *S*
Bad Scrapper alert: I forgot the camera today! UGH! Here’s a pic I found online of one of the two pair he picked out. Can’t find the other one, so you will just have to wait a week or so until they are ready and I get pictures! *S*
