Ask a Ninja, Characters, and Glubble

So…  Nothing really today.  I screwed up my back playing “Sock Fight” with the kids.  Well, really thePinkDiva jumped me and caught me off guard, but I’m not blaming her or anything.  I spent all day yesterday on my heating pad, and just chilled.  It worked.  I feel much better today.

Didn’t accompish much over the weekend, other than surf around and laugh my rear-end off over some Ask a Ninja clips on Youtube.  That dude is funny!   here’s the clip of him explaining podcasting.  Funny stuff!

and if that’s not enough weird fun, check out Chad Vader.  Hi-Larious.
(**Yes, I’ve known about both of these for months.  just now blogging them. I’m slow.  I know.)

I did come up with some really cute nicknames for my family though.  I’ve been wanting to do this for some time, because I am so tired of the generic dd ds whatnot.  Besides, the Baby-who-isn’t-a-baby-anymore really wishes I would stop calling him “Baby” because “I not BaBee!”  He’s been dubbed Lil’Chicano.  Check out the Characters link to the right to see who’s who.

Meanwhile, I’ve found Glubble.  It’s supposed to be a family-friendly browser.  It uses firefox, and jacks it into something for little kids to use, and protects them from the crap out there.  Unlike other parental control programs which generically block everything, Glubble gives the parents freedom to approve or deny anything, from entire websites, to single pages within each site.  So in theory, I could totally block the store at NickJr, while allowing them to play the games.  *S*  Makes alot of sense.  Plus, when they find a site they want to check out, they have to ask permission.  and email is sent to me (or whichever other controller they pick to ask) and I can approve or deny the request.

So, since I am hoping to get my kids more involved online and what not, I’m going to give it a shot.  It’s free, and it’s in beta.  The Beta part always make me a bit leery, but they say on their website that they plan to start charging for some features, so I may as well jump in ans see if it will work for us.  I will for sure let my readers know if it’s something worth using or a total pain in the keyster.

Glubble

Here goes nothing.
