Did you know the Bible advocates SAHMs? Check it out – Titus 2:4-5
“…so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the Word of God will not be dishonored.”
The verses before this speak to the older women mentoring the younger, teaching the younger women how to behave, and how to live the way God wants us to live. “Love their children” means so much more than just making sure they food on the table, clothes to wear and a roof. It means to invest yourself in them. Pastor Piland said that the word “love” is “philios” and means to be a companion to your kids. Get down on the floor and play with them.
We are also told to be “workers in the home.” So God wants us to do housework. There was even a study done that proved housework prevents cancer.
So we are to be workers in the home, and companions to our kids. Sounds like a SAHM to me.
