The second tooth had finally fallen out.
He was freaked because he had almost swallowed it. While he was brushing and rinsing out the new empty spot in his mouth, I assured him that if he had swallowed it, which we don’t suggest, but just in case he had… The tooth would eventually work it’s way out in his.. well, you know… And the tooth fairy would accept a letter in place of the tooth. That knowledge settled him down. But!! When it comes to teeth, the tooth fairy is like Santa, all-knowing. You can’t try to fool her out of a dollar and leave a note unless you really truly lost a tooth.
Now he’s got a big hole in the bottom of his smile, and bonus! He gets to sing the song! *S*
