Last night, while putting BigBoy to bed, he said, “When you ask Jesus in your heart, He’s in there forever. But sometimes He goes in and out.”
What?
Seems BigBoy is wrestling with the concept of an Omnipresent God. He’s trying to figure out how God can be in him, and with him, and with Mommy, all at the same time. After all, Mommy can only be in one place at a time. So his 3 yr old brain is trying to comprehend this… and this 30 year old mom is trying to figure out how to help him understand.
I know! Star Wars analogies! It worked for GeekBoy!
So I tell BigBoy, God is like the force, only way better. He is all around us, and in us and everywhere in the world all at once. But, the force just sits there, waiting to be used. God watches out for us. He doesn’t always do what we want when we want it, but He does whats best for us.
Now GeekBoy got it right away. He loves that idea. BigBoy… not so much. But at 830pm, I just don’t have the brainpower to figure out how to break it down any further.
