AI: Final 12 Girls

Seacrest lets us know that someone’s been sharing the flu around the top 24.  Paula looks reasonably better tonight then she looked last night.  Randy is diggin’ the Dawg Pound.  Simon likes when the contestants dish it back… But newsflash Seacrest, America doesn’t.  60’s night part two…  here we go.
Kristi Lee Cook:  She sold a horse to go to Philly to try out.  Hopefully it’s a gamble that pays off.   She did ok…  Did you see David Cook in the background, checkin’ out her rear end??  Paula outs Kristie as one of the ones with the flu & she cops to bronchitis too.  You know, all things considered, she did ok.  Simon’s gonna diss her anyway.  Despite what the crowd thinks, Simon’s right.  The song wasn’t a big WOW factor.  This is the girl who got through auditions and Hollywood with the same song.  I hope she’s not a one trick pony.  Like how Seacrest won’t get near her though.

Joanne Borgella:  She’s got to open her eyes.  I didn’t feel it.  Randy nailed it when he said she sounded shaky.  Paula is actually coherent.  She tells Joanne to grab her confidence.  Simon calls her “caberet, singing a caberet song.”

Alaina Whitaker:  She’s doing a good job with this song…  Randy declares this the year of the Youngun’s.  Paula says her ending was great.  Simon says she was good, even though he hated it.  DH points out she’s a young blonde, she’s through.  I agree.  She’s good, and she’s obviously not one of the ones with the flu judging by how close Seacrest is standing to her.

Amanda Overmyer:  She freakin’ rocks. She’s good for what she is.  Randy loves the scat, and wants the pants.  Amanda jokes about her pants.  Paula loves her for being authentic.  Personally, I think her voice will be shot in a few years if she’s not careful.  Simon says it wasn’t the best, but he likes her.

Amy Davis:  Ouch.  AI Classic blunder.  a slow song on show one.  Said it before and I’ll say it again, I don’t like songs on this show.  DH even said it didn’t seem like the right song.  I felt something was just not right to it.  Randy says alot of pitch problems.  the positive Paula can find is the camera loves her.  Paula agrees with DH that it wasn’t the right choice.  Thank you Simon for agreeing with me about how boring it was.  He says she needed to be country to pull it off, and she wasn’t.  Things aren’t looking good for Amy.

Brooke White:  “So happy together”  I’m digging her for some reason.  Bits of it sounded kind of shaky to me..  Randy says the front was rough, the back was good.  Tells her to “slay it”.  Paula tells her she original, and that it was the right song.  Simon agrees it was the right song.  Simon is tired of the blonde happiness.  Seacrest is diggin’ Simon for a reference to “washing up liquid” which is apparently the British version of dishwasher detergent.

Alexandrea Lushington:  Good start.  Coming down the stairs.  Lots of energy.  Ouch.. something isn’t sounding right in the high parts at the end.   What do the judges think.  Randy said she blew the doors off it and stayed on the notes.  Maybe I’m wrong.  Paula praises the “dope outfit” and the performance.  Simon didn’t get it, and he didn’t think the vocals were that good.  DH thinks she fell apart at the end too…  Of course…  he’s hoping the fun doesn’t end after AI.  *wink wink*

Simon says that other then one woman tonight, the girls just aren’t holding up their end of the bargain tonight.  I’d agree.

Kady Malloy: Her Britney impersonation was dead on.  It’s a slow song, and I don’t like them… but her vocals sound great.  Randy said she never belted it out.  the crowd disagrees.  Paula is losing it.  she’s all stuttering and what not, but she makes the point that they want to see more personality.  Simon says he agrees with Paula, and she looked like “Night of the living Dead”.  He said the Britney thing was great, but when she tries to be herself, the life is gone.  Paula tries to clarify, Don’t get lost in what should I be, just be.  Randy backs her up.  I think this kid has potential.

Asia’h Epperson:  Dude.  Swing that head just a little more.  She needs to enunciate better, the word is “Heart,” not “har.”  but other than that, she did good.  I liked it.  Simon agrees, calling it his favorite of the night.  This girl is going to to the top 10.

Ramiele Maluby:  Wow.  I like this girl.  Top 10.  Definitely.  She needs some work on her stage presence.
Randy calls her “hawt!”  Paula says it was great.  Simon says he didn’t like her at first, but she is the most consistently good singer.  Dude,  Seacrest is short, this girl is shorter.  Girlfriend loves her shoes, she seems a little shocked.

Syesha Mercado: another nice one.  Girl can blow!  Randy liked it.  Paula calls her consistent, joyful, fun, and big.  Simon says it wasn’t the best performance from her, but that she is one of the most talented girls in the competition.  She’s got the total package.  Another potential top 10 in my opinion.

Carly Smithson:  She can sing.  It’s nice.  Slow, but nice.  She’s another one with Broncitis and flu.  fun.  OOOO!  Carly totally blows Kristie Cook out of the water by saying “sick is not an excuse.”  It’s a good thing the show is almost over because Paula is losing her vocal ability.  Simon fights with Paula like an old married couple.  Simon calls her Caberet and says he didn’t think it was her full potential.

Prediction Time:  Amy Davis and Kristie Lee Cook will be going home.

I think the female top 6 will be the last 6 girls tonight.   Brooke will give Kady a run for that last spot, but ultimately, she’ll lose.  It will be Kady, Asia’h, Syesha, Carly, Alexandrea, and Ramiele going up against Micheal Johns, David Archulette, and 4 other guys.

  1. Why thank you. *S* Mad Props to JD Matthews of Musical Ramblings though… I learned from him. *S* I just hope he’s ok. Haven’t heard from him since last August or something…

  2. I know…I was wondering the same thing. Guess he’s busy doing other things. I’m just glad that you stepped up to the plate because you keep me laughing!
