Yikes… politics.. a touchy subject. And not normally something you find on a digital scrapbook forum, but there it was. Someone at DigiShopTalk just had to ask the question.
I will not vote for Hilliary. Not just because I’m a Republican, but because she is scary. Seriously. Do some looking into White Water, and the health care debacle, and what about the time at the Rose law firm? Yea… There are just too many shady things in her past, not to mention Bill, for me to trust her with something so vitally important as the safety and security of our country.
My picks? Well, I think the Dem’s just might wind up with John Edwards as the nominee. Why do I think that? There is a proven track record that the “sweetheart” early on often doesn’t get it. Remember Howard Dean? So with as much chatter as there is about Hillary and Obama right now, I don’t see either of them winning the ticket. Second reason why I pick Edwards for the Dem. side, if you listened to the Dem Rebuttal to the State of the Union a few days ago, Webb’s whole speech – about there being a portion of Americans who are wealthy and a bunch who aren’t – rang to me like Edwards’ Two Americas theme. I think the DNC is looking for Edwards. I could be wrong though. Only time will tell.
As for the Republicans, I would absolutely love to see Condi run. But she won’t. number one, she’s already said no, and unlike Hilary (who ran for senate this last time declaring that she would not abandon NY for the Presidency. Uh huh.), Condi doesn’t have a track record of lying about stuff like this. Also, I believe she has never been elected to an office, in that case, Pres isn’t the one to start with. So since Condi’s out, we are left with Mitch Romney, who I don’t know much about, John McCain, who I have issues with, and Rudy Guilliani, who I also have issues with. So who would I pick?
If the elections were today, I would go with Guilliani. Why? Because he remembers 911. He will never forget the day those towers came down, and he will never forget who did it.
Have you looked at the candidate who graduated from the tiny school district I teach in? Sam Brownback has announced his candidacy. He’s from here, so I’ve heard a lot of people in town talking about him. From what I hear, he has no skeletons and is referred to as “God’s Senator.” Pro-life, pro-intelligent design… what’s not to love? Interesting reading there. As far as Hiliary, I don’t think she’s got a chance in heck. There are too many negative connotations, especially out here in the heartland.
Actually, I’ve not heard his name yet. How sad is that? I could tell you a handful of names from the Dem side who are running, but the only names I’ve heard coming from the Rep. side is Guiliian, McCain and Romney. I’ll have to look into Brownback, thanks for the tip! *S*
