May 9 is Military Spouse Appreciation Day.
May 11 is Mother’s Day.
The annual “What is A SAHM worth?” survey says this year I’m worth $117,000.00.
Throw in the annual salary of a teacher, lowball est at $47,000. (That’s actually from the ’04-’05 school year.)
That brings my imaginary net worth grand total up to $164,000.00 a year. I’ll take that in 10’s and 20’s please.
But seriously… I couldn’t do what I do without the love and support of my dear husband. Love ya babe. Con todo mi corazon.
How can they put a price on a stay at home mom, I wonder.
I think they look at the average salaries of each of the jobs that SAHMs do – chef, nutritionist, maid, chauffeur, laundress, childcare, etc. Then split the salaries per hour many average hours SAHMs would spend on each job, then add it all together. Least, that’s how it was done a few years ago when some website had a calculator to fill in to find your personal SAHMmy worth. Ugh, right.
