Psalm 118:5-8
From my distress I called upon the Lord; The Lord answered me and set me in a large place.
The Lord is for me; I will not fear; What can man do to me?
The Lord is for me among those who help me; Therefore I shall look with satisfaction on those who hate me.
It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.
Wow. This verse just jumped out at me. I’m going through another valley right now. Little sleep, short days, wacky weather, the anniversary of my dad’s death (has it really been a year already? That can’t be right!), and self-imposed pressure concerning our homeschooling efforts are all adding up to weigh heavily on my heart and mind.
“The Lord is for me among those who help me.” So he will send people into my path to make sure I’m ok, to lend a helping a hand, or just give me a shoulder to lean on. On the flip side, He will also use me to be that little inpirational bump in someone else’s road.
Comforting words for a mama who’s worn out from several nights of little to no sleep.
