Unknown sisters

This kind of stuff just hurts my heart….  Because there but for the grace of God go I.

I hurt for the wives of the VAW120.  I know the military most likely hasn’t told them who is missing.  And I know there is little to no communication with spouses and loved ones going on right now.  So I know every wife from that squadron is holding her breath….  Waiting to find out if their husband is ok.

I pray for them.

I hurt for them…

my unknown sisters.

We tend the children, keeps homes running, and live for the occasional email or phone call.

We answer the call.  We may not have signed the enlistment papers with a pen, but we signed them with our heart.

Yet 9 times out of 10, the press knows about our husbands’ injury or death before we do.

And we either avoid the news altogether hoping to ignore it, or hang on to every update, desperate for more information.

God bless the unsung heroes of this war.

God bless the military family.
