Lake of Tears

Lake Of Tears

The Lake of Tears is a small pond found on the base behind my development. The story is that several years ago, 1997 to be exact, a three year boy went missing. Twenty-four hours later, his body was found in the lake. It was ruled an accidental drowning. I didn’t live here at the time, so I’m not sure who put up the sign. There used to be a playground back there, as evidence by the skeltal remains of one. there also used to be a jogging trail around the lake. Over the years the are has become very overgrown. The family has long since moved on, as is the way of military life, and at this point in time, the area is seldom mowed, if ever. It’s almost sad to see such a place in such disrepair.
The future of the Lake of Tears is unknown to me. The military has privatised the housing in the area, and the plan is to eventually knock down the houses in my development. Whatever happens, I felt the need to document this place, and remember a little boy, whose family I have never met.

I used my own Partly Cloudy kit to scrap this one. Fonts on the layout are Selfish and Primer Print.
