I have 3 under age 5 (a ds4, dd2, and ds7mos for any that don’t know or remember). Add housework, my volunteer work for Angel Babies Forever Loved (anywhere from 10 hours a month to 10 hours a week, depending on what needs done), my scrapping business, and just being a wife… It’s no wonder I don’t have much time for my other hobbies anymore! (genealogy, website design, reading, cross-stitch… all things I love to do but don’t have time anymore!)
The most I get done on a daily basis are my simple routines. I think the key to truly FLYing isn’t about having your home perfectly clean, or following the program exactly and doing all the room rescues and zone cleans and missions. It’s about finding a routine and a schedule that work for you. I manage to keep the middles clean, and that’s what works for me. once every few months I actually get into the corners (in this small house, most of the corners are hidden by furniture, so they are not easy get into in the first place) and evict the cobwebs…. but for the most part, as long as the middles stay clear… I don’t bother with the rest. Granted, I de-cluttered much of my home back when I started in March 2002… but back then I only had one child and a small 2 bedroom apartment… It was much easier to get into the deep zone cleaning and the daily missions, etc… These days, I consider it a small victory when I manage to get all the kids toys put away in the right places!
Find what works for you, what blesses you and what you can live with….
FLYing isn’t about a clean house. That’s just a side effect. FLYing is Finally Loving Yourself. Find what will work for you and your family, and don’t sweat the rest.
I’m always amazed at how much you DO get done, especially with those three little “full time jobs” you have!!!
hugs,
Bev
Thanks Bev! your encouragment, as well as that of the rest of the Mouth group really goes a long way toward keeping me sane!
