And while Democrats have been reluctant to campaign on their sweeping health care overhaul, which will eventually provide millions in government subsidies, they’ve been more eager to slam any Republican as heartless and irresponsible for proposing plans to “privatize” the veterans health system — if not the Department of Veterans Affairs altogether.

Um, first of all, The Dems are distorting the GOP ideas on this. Right now there is such a backlog in the VA Hospital System, it’s almost sick. The GOP ideas would let Vets get their care in the private system if they so desire or need. VA care would still be available to the Vets, but they would have the option of getting vouchers to go elsewhere if they wanted.
Second… Do they really want to play this card? Really? I mean… Remember back in March 2009 when it was President Obama who actually wanted to force Vets to pay for their own health care? Remember this:
