I mean a real book. I love reading. I’ll have to work it into my schedule as a daily thing… I started with Sarah Ban Breathnach’s Simple Abundance. Just the Forward has enough in it to really get my brain whirling. She starts off by declaring she wants to write a book that would show her how to “reconcile my deepest spiritual, authentic, and creative longings with often-overwheling and conflicting commiments.” Boy does that ever hit the nail on the head. She goes on to say she knows she is not the only woman “frazzled, depressed, worn to a raveling.” Wow. Does that describe me or what? Just like Sarah, I would like so much – money, recognition, etc… but like her, I have no clue what the answers are… hell.. I don’t even know the questions! *S* I’m definalty a workaholic, careaholic, and even a perfectionist (that’s what drove me to join FLYlady!)….

Sarah has a great quote to open the book… The quote is by Margaret Young, and paraphrased, it says that most people do jobs they hate, to make lots of money to buy lots of stuff tot ry to make themselves happy. Margaret goes on to say that this is just the opposite of what we ought to be doing. We ought to first figure out who we truly are, then do what we need to do to have what we truly want.

Lots to consider. But reality intrudes upon my deepest thoughts. It’s time to put dinner in the oven. *S*

I’ve recently begun reading again, and I don’t mean blogs or email.
