Life keeps getting in the way of my blogging, and then the memories start to slip through my <a href=\"http:\/\/bunny-trails.blogspot.com\/2008\/11\/colander-head.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Anti-Gravity Colander Brain<\/a>, as <a href=\"http:\/\/bunny-trails.blogspot.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Diane<\/a> calls it.\u00a0 Just when I start looking back and realizing that I haven&#8217;t been a good blogger for the last half of the year, something happens that changes my perspective.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, my oldest son celebrated his 9th birthday.\u00a0 We didn&#8217;t make a big fuss, he didn&#8217;t get much in the way of gifts. It&#8217;s been a wild and crazy year (more on that later).\u00a0 But what really got me&#8230; What proved to me that we are doing a good job of raising our children with the proper focus on what&#8217;s truly important in this world&#8230;\u00a0 Was when my son came out for breakfast on the day of his birth, knowing that he wasn&#8217;t getting a big party or a lot of gifts this year, and he said,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;What&#8217;s really important about today is that I get to spend time with my family.\u00a0 My family is more important to me then toys.
