{"id":1264,"date":"2008-12-10T10:58:36","date_gmt":"2008-12-10T15:58:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.yuriar.com\/wp\/?p=1264"},"modified":"2008-12-10T10:58:36","modified_gmt":"2008-12-10T15:58:36","slug":"when-will-they-ever-get-the-message","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yuriar.com\/katp\/2008\/12\/10\/when-will-they-ever-get-the-message\/","title":{"rendered":"When will they ever get the message?"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote>\n<p>Two key issues remain: Whether to block the auto companies from suing states over their greenhouse gas emission standards and how the bill can ensure taxpayers can get repaid for loans to Chrysler, a privately held company, in the event of a bankruptcy.<\/p>\n<p>Congressional Democrats want to add language that they can reach up to Chrysler&#8217;s holding company, Cerberus Capital Management, if that happens, but the White House is &#8220;pushing back&#8221; according to one Democratic aide.<\/p>\n<p>The talks did resolve two sticking points, however.<\/p>\n<p>One dealt with a provision that any expenditure of more than $25 million by the three automakers would have to have to get prior government approval.
