{"id":1134,"date":"2008-07-29T08:33:59","date_gmt":"2008-07-29T13:33:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.yuriar.com\/wp\/?p=1134"},"modified":"2008-07-29T08:33:59","modified_gmt":"2008-07-29T13:33:59","slug":"finding-the-tigger-trapped-in-the-eeyore","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yuriar.com\/katp\/2008\/07\/29\/finding-the-tigger-trapped-in-the-eeyore\/","title":{"rendered":"Finding the Tigger trapped in the Eeyore."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So last night, I saw something on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mamapop.com\/mamapop\/2008\/07\/requiescat-in-p.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MamaPop<\/a> about Randy Pausch.\u00a0 See, I had been hearing about him, and how sad it was that he died.\u00a0 But I never knew who this was.\u00a0 So I clicked on the YouTube video out of curiosity.\u00a0 I was just going to watch a few minutes to get a feel for why so many people were bummed out, but his energy just sucked me in.\u00a0 Before long, I had watched the whole hour and sixteen minutes!\u00a0 At the end of the lecture, I teared up, and suddenly I understood why this man would be missed by so many.<\/p>\n<p>One point he made stood out to me.\u00a0 At the 1:02:04 mark, he told the audience, &#8220;You just have to choose if you&#8217;re a Tigger or an Eeyore.&#8221;\u00a0 I thought about it for the rest of the night.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Tigger &#8211; &#8220;The wonderful thing about Tiggers, is Tiggers are wonderful things!! &#8230; bouncy flouncy fun fun fun fun!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Eeyore &#8211; &#8220;Thanks for noticin&#8217; me. Not many people do.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Tigger is full of life and energy.\u00a0 Eeyore is a depressed donkey in serious need of intervention.\u00a0 As much as I wish I was a tigger, I think I&#8217;m more of an Eeyore.\u00a0 The whole, &#8220;Woe is me&#8221; thing really wears thin after a while.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not all Eeyore though.\u00a0 I can be a Tigger when I want to be.\u00a0 And I really want to be.\u00a0 I want to be a Tigger.\u00a0 I want to pass a love for life to my kids.
