Really? Maybe he meant &#8220;captured the world&#8217;s<em> attention<\/em>&#8221; because, I don&#8217;t think anyone who watched that video, or even heard about that video, found themselves &#8220;imagining&#8221; anything.\u00a0 I love Mock&#8217;s take on this over at <a href=\"http:\/\/chicksontheright.com\/2010\/05\/19\/was-your-imagination-captured\/\">Chicks On The Right<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>But noooooooo. Obama said that Daniel Pearl\u2019s death was \u201cone of those moments that captured the world\u2019s imagination because it reminded us of how valuable a free press is, and it reminded us that there are those who would go to any length in order to silence journalists around the world.\u201d Say whaaaa? Captured our imaginations? Is he serious with this crap? I\u2019d like him to point out ONE PERSON to me who thought (or imagined, if we\u2019re going to use his word), when Pearl was beheaded, \u201cWow \u2013 that freedom of the press thing sure is valuable.\u201d No. People weren\u2019t thinking that. They were simply trying to process the kind of evil that they\u2019d just witnessed.
