My son’s classes have become active at our choosen online school. I’ve spent the entire day learning more about the school, and what will be required of me, and what will be required of my son.
Just to reaffirm our decision, there’s a news story out today. “Schools told it’s no longer necessary to teach right and wrong.” Granted it’s Britian, but still. The link has been made to the Values Clarification Movement in the 70s by some of the FReepers. Get this, not only are british schools to no longer teach values, they are no longer to teach British culture. Fun.
Makes me even happier to home school, even if the prospect of being responsible for turning my little smart-alec into a savvy, independent-thinking, intelligent young man scares the crap outta me.
