So I couldn’t help but laugh when I saw this headline at NYTimes.com<\/a><\/p>\n

“Obamas Prepare to Plant White House Vegtable Garden”<\/p>\n

Before I even read the story I thought, “gee, I wonder if the food police<\/a> will confiscate Mrs. Obama’s precious organically grown food?”<\/p>\n

Then I read the article and saw this:<\/p>\n

Twenty-three fifth graders from Bancroft Elementary School in Washington will help her dig up the soil for the 1,100-square-foot plot, in a spot visible to passers-by on E Street. (It is just below the Obama girls\u2019 swing set.)<\/p>\n

Students from the school, which has had a garden since 2001, will also help plant, harvest and cook the vegetables, berries and herbs.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Awesome!\u00a0 Child labor!\u00a0 I mean, it’s one thing to work on a garden as a school project – which is how they will skirt the child labor laws on this one – but to use these public school kids for free labor?\u00a0 Shame on you Mrs. Obama!<\/p>\n

Oh man…. and I love this…<\/p>\n

Then, too, promoting healthful eating has become an important part of Mrs. Obama\u2019s own agenda.<\/p>\n

…<\/p>\n

\u201cA real delicious heirloom tomato is one of the sweetest things that you\u2019ll ever eat,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd my children know the difference, and that\u2019s how I\u2019ve been able to get them to try different things.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Aside from the fact that she now has so many “important parts” of her agenda, I don’t know how she will effectively do anything about any of it…\u00a0\u00a0 But ma’am, under HR 875, something your husband’s party is pushing for, those wonderful organic foods you love will become virtually illegal.\u00a0 Maybe you can do something about that?<\/p>\n

Oh man…\u00a0 sometimes, you just gotta laugh.<\/p>\n
